July 26, 1999
- Arrived in Anchorage after a long flight.
- Board at “A Cousin of Mine” Bed and Breakfast.
July 27, 1999
- Drove towards Seward.
- Took pictures on the highway.
- Took a boat ride on the Portage Glacier.
- Arrived at the Moby Dick hostel in Seward.
July 28, 1999
- Set out on Lost Lake Trail outside of Seward.
- Returned half dead!
- Camped at Seward public campground.
July 29, 1999
- Took Kenai Fjords wildlife cruise.
- Drove to Girdwood.
- Checked into Alyeska hostel.
July 30, 1999
- Hit the gold-mine ruins trail (Crow Creek).
- Headed towards Fairbanks.
- Camped along the way close to a glacier.
July 31, 1999
- Reached Fairbanks.
- Checked into Shirley’s hostel.
August 1, 1999
- Hung out in Fairbanks.
- Checked out the museum at University of Alaska.
- Slept in the hostel.
August 2, 1999
- Drove to Chena hot springs.
- Headed for Denali.
- Camped at Grizzly Bear camp.
August 3, 1999
- Dog sled demo at Denali.
- Mt. McKinley overlook trail.
- Camped again at Grizzly.
August 4, 1999
- Took the bus tour to Wonder Lake in Denali.
- Slept at Grizzly camp.
August 5, 1999
- Drove back to Anchorage.
- Checked into Spenard hostel.
- Dinner at Tampura.
August 6, 1999
- Dropped Yingzi at the airport.
- Got photos developed.
- Did the bike ride on the coastal trail.
- Departed from Alaska at night.
